" I was a bit hesitant to come here at first because many of the reviews are people that have only 1 review to their profile, so I was suspicious since I think it's maybe the owner or stylists' friends that are writing reviews just to generate buzz for the shop (which is relatively new).

Either way, I went to Karina today for partial highlights (my roots had grown out a lot), and I think she did a great job!  We made sure to talk about my hair at the beginning to see if I wanted more natural highlights or chunks, and how dark/light I wanted to go, and she offered various options as color ideas.  I came out with natural looking caramel/hazelnut highlights.  Luckily I was not in a rush because it took 2 hours at the salon, I think it's because she was very meticulous to make sure all my roots were covered, that the products were working on my hair properly, etc.   After she highlighted my hair, I got a wash and blow dry.  She did a great job styling my hair, when I left the salon my hair looked super healthy shiny and felt sleek, the kind where you just want to run your fingers through your hair because it feels so smooth.  

Karina is young, and I was a bit nervous at first to see how the highlights were going to turn out, but I think they look great!  I think currently some of the other stylists (like Denise and Johnny) have more clients, but I'm glad that Karina worked on my hair, because it looks really good.   

Pricing is $55 for partial highlights, and right now there's a coupon for $10 off any color service so without tip you're getting highlights for $45 which is a really great price compared to other places around town!  I'm close to south austin so this was the best option given location and pricing.

"My boyfriend who has had long shaggy hair for over 15 yrs decided he wanted a drastic change. He was a bit nervous to cut it all off, but since we have heard such AMAZING things about Silk he decided go through with the cut! He was able to book an appointment with Johnny on the same day and Johnny did a FABULOUS job! His hair looks great, and not only will we both start going to see Johnny on a regualr basis, but I would refer ANYONE to go to Silk!! WONDERFUL SERVICE, AFFORDABLE PRICES, AND STYLISTS who know what their DOING! :)"

"Years ago my stylist moved out of state. It has taken me this long to find a place and a stylist who truly listens, gently offers advise, and provides an awesome stylists. Niki colored my hair and took the time to ask questions, offer advise and carefully made sure that I was pleased with my hair before I left.
I strongly recommend, Niki, although everyone there seemed great!"

Johnny is amazing!! His salon is amazing!! I love my hair style, cut, and color...and you can't beat the price. I have a hard time trusting stylists to cut/color my hair, but Johnny is good to go! I totally trust him to do a beautiful job, even when I don't know how to describe what I want, he knows how to make you look smokin'!!

"I have been dealing with John and his services for almost a decade now. It is great that he has his own Salon now to share with everyone the great work I have enjoyed for years. His salon is not only cutting edge, but very affordable. They offer any service you could possibly want, and make it very easy to set your appointments. I have a very limited time to get my hair cut, and normally schedule it during lunch, and John and his team always make sure that I am in and out of there to get back to work. Although speed is important to me, it is not the most important thing. I want to leave feeling like I was the most important person they saw that day, and that happens every time. I have a lot of times where I do not know what I want, and they are always great at suggesting new looks for me, and even being honest with me when I ask for something that would not look right. I highly recommend the professional, fast, and cutting edge Salon."

"After recently becoming unhappy with my the pricing policy at my previous salon I decided to check out Silk after reading about it on yelp.I booked an appointment with Denise for partial highlights and a cut. After years of trying to find a stylist who can give me the EXACT cut I am looking for, my search has ended. She listened to what I wanted and executed it perfectly. My highlights also came out looking healthy and natural. The owner even introduced himself and made sure I was satisfied with the service.I'm so glad I finally found an honest salon I can keep returning to!"

"I have followed Johnny Gonzalez, the salon owner, for a few years now. I drive from Westlake to get my hair done with Johnny. He is an amazing stylist and I love the new salon. It's very current and everyone is up to date on the latest products and styling techniques. Pricing is very reasonable and the service is great! I recently received a Keratin hair treatment and I ABSOLUTELY love the results! My hair is shiny, smooth, straight and very easy to style. My hair is no longer frizzy (no matter how humid the weather is).I HIGHLY recommend this salon."

"This salon has been open about one month. I popped in as I was in the neighborhood and was hoping I could have an appointment as a walk in. They didn't have any appts available for that moment but I made an appt for the next day with stylist Denise. when I arrived we had gone over the style we discussed the day before. She was very thorough in making sure we were on the same page. I like that. She was very professional and precise in her cutting skills. I really was pleased with the outcome of my hairstyle. I also had my brows done and was pleased with that too. The price was very reasonable. I will refer others to the salon and plan on returning...."
